est Australian builder Right Homes can now add GreenSmart’s Residential Development, Energy Efﬁciency, Project Home and Water Efﬁciency of the Year awards to its already impressive collection of industry accolades – a collection which showcases their persistent commitment to providing quality and sustainable housing. ‘We just continually focus on improving. And we always make sure we’re ahead of the game,’ says director Gary Wright, who runs the business with his wife Anna. When Right Homes won a GreenSmart award in 2010 for the Jade909 house design, a beautiful sustainable project built in partnership with Jade Projects, Gary says the win opened his eyes to an emerging market. At the time he was building homes that other people designed, however, he decided to embark on creating a bold change that would set a new foundation for the future of the company.
After a few years of education alongside his team, the business achieved exactly what Gary set out to do – a full in-house design service for clients, including speciﬁcations, bill of quantities, contracts and onsite supervision. ‘We now provide a start-toﬁnish whole package,’ he says. This complete package offering helps to simplify the build process for clients, while the company’s overall focus on sustainable building philosophies has led to some impressive eco-aware builds. Not the least is their latest development winner – The Siding, located on Rutland Avenue in Lathlain, Perth.
